CASE STUDY
01 The client
BioAlps is a Geneva-based association whose main objective is the promotion of Western Switzerland as a world center for life sciences. Whether in the fields of neuroscience, bioservices or medical technology, BioAlps covers all sectors of modern medicine.
With over a 1’100 actors from industrial companies, academic institutions and with support from the cantons, no less than 35’000 life sciences professionals work with BioAlps, which makes it an indispensable resource.
BioAlps offers and hosts a significant amount of events on specific topics in the life sciences, as well as other more accessible themes of medicine in general. It is also a digital platform for the dissemination and promotion of news, business opportunities and training among BioAlps players.
02 Goal
Improve the overall visual appearance of the website and better highlight the different areas of activity of the association and its stakeholders.
03 Methodology
First of all, we had to collect and analyze the different types of content proposed by BioAlps, in order to define a logical and easy-to-use structure.
The challenge was to work with different types of content very varied (news, events, detailed descriptive files, interactive maps, etc.) and we had to be visually consistent with everything.
To improve user experience, we defined a graphic universe using the current visual guidelines, we brought a more modern touch to it. This allowed us to define a set of icons meant to successfully guide users on the website.
Based on existing fact sheets, we also introduced advanced visual solutions to present the various areas of expertise and their related content.
